Clear leaders going into the final day, Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena controlled proceedings from the front to grab their eighth win in Argentina. It was also Citroën’s ninth consecutive WRC win in South America!
The second leg of Rally Argentina turned out to be just as tricky as the competitors feared and provided plenty of twists and turns. It is at times like these that Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena have been unstoppable in the past.
Challenging for the lead right from the word go, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team crews ended day one of Rally Argentina in second and third position. Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena are 16.3s adrift of the leaders, 1.8s ahead of their team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen.

Rally Argentina, the fifth round of the World Championship, will see the much-anticipated return of Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena in the no.1 Citroën DS3 WRC. The nine-time World Champions will line up alongside Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen in the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team.
Consistent throughout the final leg of Rally de Portugal, Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen finished as runners-up at the fourth round of the FIA World Rally Championship. After rejoining under Rally2 rules, Dani Sordo and Carlos del Barrio scored two additional points for the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team in the manufacturers’ standings.
After a gruelling day’s racing for both men and machines, the second leg of Rally de Portugal saw the gaps widen in the standings. Promoted to third overall after Dani Sordo and Carlos del Barrio went off, Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen will be looking to maintain their position on the final leg.
